Anonymous asked: I think you were spot-on about reporting the cat abuse to the proper authorities, but could I suggest also that the OP be prepared to leave? The OP has described aggressive behavior with the animal abuse, along with saying that they do not get along with their roommate. If the cat is removed and the roommate is not arrested, the roommate's aggression could be redirected toward the OP.

Microwaves are so rude. To continue beeping when I’ve already opened you and Majestic is still sleeping is blatant aggression. It will not stand
Anonymous asked: I respect your opinions and advice so this is why I'm asking you. I'm not sure who else to ask, since this is a pretty scary, terrible thing to accuse someone of. I've been suspecting my roommate abusing his cat for a while now. But tonight's events have confirmed it. I've never seen it, but I can hear everything clearly and he has a lot of fucking anger and takes it out...

I just wrote jessica a message. mostly because I realized that by channeling mark @uic at her mfa show today, I was also channeling jessica/majestic - as they were some of mark’s style icons.
also, I make great double chin faces.
also, life without mark is so dull.

i will forever find it funny that white people get more upset over the word ‘nigger’
than stuff that actually seriously effects lives … institutionalized/ systematic racism & white supremacy
lol
but yes, let’s get super mad about somebody saying nigger and get rid of a lil bit of white guilt.

afirethorn asked: The other thing about didgeridoos is that traditionally only indigenous australian men are allowed to play them - and those men often need to be initiated into certain ceremonies and practices. And certain types of didgeridoos are used for certain things. The other thing is, the commodification of the didgeridoo is extremely exploitative of indigenous people - tacky knock-offs in every tourist...
femmefight-deactivated20130207 asked: White people playing the digeridoo is more serious than garden variety cultural appropriations because it ignores the sacred dreaming laws of Australian indigenous peoples that dictate who may play them. They are far more than instruments, and carry a lot of spiritual significance that I am not educated enough on to elaborate on. I hope as a white Australian I did justice in explaining.

It doesn't address the didgeridoo specifically, but it goes into more detail about what exactly is happening on a cultural level when white people divorce things from their meanings and contexts.
